St. Giles School Athletic Advisory Committee
 

Members of the St Giles Athletic Advisory Committee consist of the Athletic Director, Athletic Business Manager, a School Board Member, a Faculty Member, and six 'At Large' Members:

  • Kathy Lofgren, Assistant Principal
  • Janet Coffey, Chair & School Board Rep.

  • Richard Jones, Fundraising
  • Sal Petramala
Responsibilities:
  1. To oversee the Athletic Program and to recommend new or revised policies or guidelines for consideration by the School Board, Principal, or Pastor.
  2. To enforce all guidelines outlined in the St Giles School Athletic Handbook and the Archdiocese Athletic Handbook.
Committee Jobs:
  • Review new coach selection and evaluation
  • Review coaches education and training
  • Ensure completion of Protecting God's Children paperwork
  • Ensure positive and appropriate parent/student communication consistent with Athletic Handbook
    • Parent meeting at beginning of season
      • Distribute Handbooks
    • Parent Survey at end of season (email)
  • Manage complaints and problems if unresolved by Athletic Director
  • Approval of fees and budget
    • Uniform, equipment, and spirit wear expenditures
    • Coaching and staff expenditures
  • Assist in recruiting volunteers and fundraising efforts
  • Ensure programs follow mission of school/parish
